Beginning October 3, 2015 the new TILA-RESPA guidelines will go into effect. These new guidelines were established by the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau or "CFPB". The rules were designed to simplify transactions for consumers. However, the changes are substantial and may result in confusion as people adjust to the new guidelines.
